RE: 1st rv- dumb ? but what is the button by the brake?

How about the manual choke and the knob on the dash for turning on wipers? Stan And vacuum wipers that would stop when you were going up a hill and beat themselves silly going down hill

RE: Bad Thermostat and/or remote sensor?

The rear unit in my Monaco would cycle off and then cycle back on within 2 minutes. I removed the remote sensor cover and repositioned the "bulb" back a bit more and made sure it was centered in the hole, replaced cover, Problem solved

RE: Watch What You Do in Your Front Yard!

I went to my address and there I am, blocking 1/2 the street backing the boat into the driveway. Funny, I don't recall seeing them drive by but I am looking right at the camera :h

RE: Mice...We've Tried Almost Everything

According to the cures and procedures recommended and havedreamwilltravel has turned your RV into a Hazment containment site, I'd just sell it with a mice included sign. I still like my electric fence idea, I'm just trying to figure how to get the little post to stay in the ground. Oh well. Best of Luck. Bill Not really, however you do have to be careful as mice and rats carry diseases (not the pet shop kind) and many people die because of the hantavirus spread by their droppings. The clean up is the worst part as it is released into the air and breathed in. Didn't mean to make it sound like a hazmat site though - but you do need to clean it up with anti bacterial and be careful what your breathing in when doing so! I agree - I did make it sound as such though didn't I? :S Kinda ...... I don't know that four to five people in a bad year is great cause for concern (as long as I am not one of them)

RE: Lap-Band Procedure - Decide To Do It

Loedman: As a "fattie", I will answer your question. I have been on diets, pills, shots, hypnosis, accupunture, etc, for over 50 years. They work great - - - - for a short time and then I gained again. The medical community are finding out that there is something different between brains of skinnies and fatties. The lapband is a tool. It is not the end-all. We still have to diet and watch our fats, sodium and protein. The band just helps us keep the eating within certain guidelines. It certainly is not easy or "taking the easy way out." Bette Bette, thank you for the reply and thank you for realizing I was not being a wise *ss I appreciate the info.

RE: Lap-Band Procedure - Decide To Do It

Not trying to be flippant here but wouldn't it make more sense to go on a doctor supervised diet and lose the weight?

RE: Yellow jackets in refrigerator vent

That's one reason to check everything once a week during the warm months. Be careful with the yellow jackets, they'll sting the hell out of you. Especially the little ones that make the paper nest. (which is more than likely what those are). Mud daubers won't sting you. They just make mud pies! (well actually storage tubes for food). Like Don Don said, put up screens, ... after you eliminate YJ's. Clean out any Dauber tubes. Please don't assume that mud daubers do not sting. They can deliver very painful stings and if you happen to be allergic you can be in serious trouble ..... Don't ask me how I know :(

RE: Country Coach Failure

Buy the rebuilt transmission, install an external cooler, have the old cooler plugged off and the radiator boiled out and re use it and the next time the transmission starts shifting funny, shut it down and get it towed to a repair shop. Had you been aware enough you could have got by with a thorough cleaning and some minor repairs. The transmission DOES NOT fail the instant anti freeze contacts the plates.

RE: Double Posts

The performance of RV.net is despicable, I gave up and now use the woodalls.com site which is problematic and irritating but not infuriating like RV.net is.

RE: Wives!! Let your husbands accept Help ;)

I guess I am lucky ..... My lovely bride quietly reads a book while I move into my site and once positioned I take care of the outside stuff while she takes care of the inside. Never a cross word between us :B

RE: Using old gas?

I was talking with a friend last night and we are wondering about using old gas from his boat. Because of health problems he has not been able to take the boat out for about 6 or 7 years. I know gas turn into a varnish like liquid over time but he has about 120 gallons in the boat and with todays prices it would be nice to be able to use it. Is there something that can be added to bring it back? Octane booster maybe? Thanks for any info you may have on this, he really could use this fuel if it is usable. Thanks, Roy Stick your nose in the filler and take a sniff. If it smells like gas then give it a try if it smells like something evil then pump it out and start over.

RE: Used 98 Kountry Star 34.5 Diesel ?

I'm looking at a used Kountry star 34.5 foot Diesel 30k miles 210 cummins with 1 slide asking price is in the 30's can anyone give me some pro's or cons on this unit. 210 Cummings? My 98 Monaco Windsor 34 no slide has the 8.3 300 horse and is probably at the lowest HP and torque that you would want on a coach that size and weight unless you never plan on climbing any sort of an incline

RE: Bent satellite dish?

I had a big wind gust send mine crashing end over end across a park. I recovered it in three pieces, bent the dish back into shape, pop riveted the pick up arm back on and dialed in a strong 90 all in about an hours time. You should be fine:B
